A little too much chocolate is just about right

Chocolate brownies are arguable the tastiest and the king of all cake slices, oozing with gooey chocolately goodness that set your taste buds tickling. Nothing could beat the traditional brownie...or cound it? That's right today I am bringing you my twist on the brownie and what goes better with chocolate than orange. Chocolate orange brownies...mmmm...

2oz Dark Chocolate
4oz Butter
8oz Granulated Sugar
2oz Plain Flour
1tsp Baking Powder
1  Rind of whole Orange
2 Large Eggs

Preheat your oven to  Pre-heat the oven to gas mark 4, 350°F (180°C).

Grab a baking tray and grease with butter, then line with grease proof paper to stop brownies sticking to tray.
In a bowl over warm water melt chocolate together and then pour in bowl with granulated sugar and add the eggs, then beat until well mixed.
Sieve the flour and baking powder, then stir gentle in.
At this point add your orange rind and mix in well. Now pour in to the tray and pop it in to the oven for around 20-30mins. If you put a cocktail stick in it shouldn't be completely clean, still a little sticky and gooey. That's the perfect consistency.

I like to eat mine with a blob of ice cream or cream whilst it's still lovely and warm, fresh out of the oven. The better quality the chocolate but tastier they are!
It's the perfect dessert to dish up to your girlfriends on girls night or even for romantic meal with that special someone.

This is a perfect blogging treat with a lovely cup of tea. Ahhhh and relax.....

Day n Night

It is quite often to find that my schedule is a bit of a tight squeeze which means I'm dashing from one place to the other hoping I arrive on time.  I find myself in the situation frequently where I need to attend a dinner or party after work which means I need to wear a look that is easily turned from day to night. So yesterday was one of those days, a colleague from work was leaving us to move to pastures greener and we thought we'd send her out with bang (and a pop of a few corks!).So this is my casual to smart, day to night look. Fit to party all night.

I find maxi skirts are very comfortable and I always feel glamourous with the the swish the material around my ankles. They are easy to wear with vest tops, bandeaus and beautiful floaty top. For my day look I always pop a pair of pumps or simple roman sandals on so that it's easy for running up and down stairs and also popping to the shop on my lunch break. For todays look I slipped in to a wardrobe staple: my denim shirt.

Taking my look to night is easy, I simply pop a pair of killer heels on. My favourite pairs and hands down choice of shoes are always from Topshop as they always make a statement and look bang on trend. At the end of work I put on a little lip gloss and my gorgeous new Topshop heels and head out the door to the celebrations. At the restaurant I slipped the denim shirt off for a more formal look to party the night away.

So what do you think? What are your day to day looks?

It's now getting to final reductions on sale and it's safe to say there are still some bargains to be had in all my favourite stores! I thought I'd give you a sneaky peak of what's been in my shopping bag this week, the haul is impressive. Sometimes it's worth holding out to see if those items you've had your eye on will eventually be mark down into sale. It's safe to say I'm a fan of sale and wait in antisipation for Topshop's mid and end of season to pick up those pieces I couldn't justify buying at full price.

Our memories of the ocean will linger on, long after our footprints in the sand are gone

What is summer without a trip to the beach? There's nothing like packing up a picnic and heading for the coast. My friends, Lady and I decided it was about time to pay a visit to play on the beach and in the surf. So we headed to Formby Beach and National Trust Red Squirrel Reserve.

It's an lovely long stretch of beach on the North west coast and on a hot day is a fantastic place to hang out with friends.

It has to be said though, us girls of Cheshire go all out with out luxurious and scrummy picnic. Homemade biscuits, cakes, fruit, pasta salad and clotted cream. Forget picnic it was more of a feast! Together we had managed to pull off the most fabulous lunch that as we sat and ate we could see the rest of the beach looking on in awe and envy.

Here comes Ladyyyy...!

After we ate we spent the rest of the afternoon playing ball games and mucking about on the beach. We even got a chance to go exploring in a tidal rockpools where we found shrimp and even star fish.Even Lady joined in, poor thing was warn out with all the running and excitement of the day.

Usually we would spend the last half hour looking round the red squirrel trail but we were far too pooped by then!
It was a fabulous day! As you can probably tell!

You can find all information here if you also wanted to visit Formby for the day.
